2nd Hit-A-Thon a Success!

The 2nd Annual Hit-A-Thon took place on a picture-perfect August day. More than 40 young ladies competed on the Mercy Health Stadium playing field, home of the Lake Erie Crushers.

"I am so grateful to the Crushers and the stadium management for letting us hold our event here," said For the Love of Softball Inc.'s Founder Laura Nichols. "The stadium was a huge draw for the participants and their families. It was an experience they'll never forget, and one we hope to offer each year."

​

In addition to sponsorships raised by the participants, the event also offered face painting, t-shirt sales ($15, still available) , 50/50 raffle tickets, and raffle baskets provided by local businesses.

​

Although the numbers are still being tallied, an estimated $13,000 was raised. "Most of that money goes directly back to the girls in the form of payment to their various teams and equipment," Nichols explained.

​

Participants competed for speed throw, distance throw, and batting distance.
